We are two months away from Christmas and the "All I Want for Christmas" singer has already announced her upcoming tour dates. The track "All I Want For Christmas Is You", recorded in October of 1994, was the lead single for Mariah's first holiday album Merry Christmas. For nearly thirty years, the song has become a Christmas standard in shopping malls and households. The holiday hit is Spotify's most streamed Christmas song, racking up over a billion streams. It has received global success topping charts in Italy, Japan, Australia, and Europe. The five-time Grammy-winning singer expanded the "All I Want For Christmas Is You" brand even further by creating a children's book. The book features the lyrics to the chart topping hit and tells the story of a little girl whose holiday wish is to receive a puppy.ImageCapitalizing on ongoing fan demand, the singer posted on her Instagram that she is having two shows in December. She shared, "It's almost time NEW YORK + TORONTO!! Come celebrate Christmas with me this December! excited to be back on stage and get festive with everybody!! Tickets on sale 10/28 at 10am on ticketmaster.com"The first show will be held in Toronto on December 11th and the second show will be on December 13th in New York. The presale tickets for both shows will be available this week on Ticketmaster.https://www.instagram.com/p/CkF_075qUQc/In an interview with Billboard, song co-writer, Walter Afanasieff was asked if he knew early on how successful the song would grow to become. He shared, "Nooo. 20 years ago, Christmas music and Christmas albums by artists weren’t the big deal that they are today. Back then, you didn’t have a lot of artists with Christmas albums; It wasn’t a known science at all back then, and there was nobody who did new, big Christmas songs. So we were going to release it as kind of an everyday, ‘hey, you know, we’re putting out a Christmas album. No big deal.’ To think of it as a single that’s going to No. 1, that’s going to drive an album…we didn’t have an inkling of that. That’s not what the time was. That’s what made it such a modern phenomenon: Because it’s not like “White Christmas” or “Jingle Bells” – the song doesn’t have any of those traditional elements, but it became a huge pop hit."Massachusetts congresswoman, Ayanna Pressley is also a fan of Mariah. Last year she tweeted that whoever "borrowed" her Mariah Carey Christmas vinyl, return it immediately.https://twitter.com/AyannaPressley/status/1466776036608290816?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1466776227394502657%7Ctwgr%5Ec0eb7a48768df55a1cf381076b108371ae435fd0%7Ctwcon%5Es2_&ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.revolt.tv%2Farticle%2F2021-12-04%2F132199%2Fmariah-carey-is-sending-rep-ayanna-pressley-a-special-christmas-gift%2Fhttps://twitter.com/MariahCarey/status/1466795031956754435
