Founding member of The Isley Brothers, Rudolph Isley, has passed away at age 84.

According to reports, the singer passed away in Illinois. At the moment, no cause of death has been revealed, however, it is believed that he passed away from a heart attack.

Rudolph started his singing career at his local church and would go on to create the iconic Isley Brothers with his brothers, Ronald, Vernon, and O’Kelly. The brothers would move to New York in 1955 where they signed to RCA Records and later debuted their first song “Shout.”

In 1958, Rudolph married Elaine Jasper, however, the rest of the group moved on to record their hits, “This Old Heart of Mine,” “It’s Your Thing,” and ‘Twist & Shout.” Although Ron was the lead singer of the group, Rudolph was able to sing lead on some of their songs.

In 1989, Rudolph left the group to pursue a career as a Christian minister, but he has reunited with his brothers throughout the years. The Isley Brothers were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

We will keep Rudolph Isley’s family and loved ones in our thoughts and prayers. Rest In Peace.
